Bio - Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF)
Visionary Circle Founder
Bill has been an enthusiastic ASF supporter since 2011, having found himself so enriched by ASF experiences that he and his wife, Linda, joined the Visionary Circle in 2015 as Founders in honor of Gus Grissom. Since joining the Visionary Circle, Bill has raised $82,000+ for the ASF through personal and corporate contributions, above and beyond contributions related to typical ASF events and merchandise. Bill has been successful in gaining his employer’s strong support of the ASF, securing Lenovo’s sponsorship of the North Carolina State University (NCSU) scholarship, awarding high-end laptop computers to Lenovo’s ASF scholarship recipients at NCSU, hosting the ASF’s first corporate meet and greet at Lenovo, and connecting the ASF with Lenovo’s external government relations consultants for guidance related to passage of the Apollo 11 Commemorative Coin Act at no cost to the ASF. He is currently investigating opportunities for Lenovo to further back sales of the Apollo Commemorative Coin. Branching beyond Lenovo, Bill has introduced the ASF to other individuals and organizations, with several individuals having attended ASF events, and technology organizations Cisco, Intel, and the International Systems Security Association (ISSA) having provided charitable contributions to the ASF.
